    — Health & Safety Manager

    Job Summary

    The Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage all aspects of occupational health, safety, and compliance at our ethanol production facility in Medina, New York. This critical role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The Health & Safety Manager will be the primary point of contact for related regulatory agencies and will oversee the facility’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Safety Program Development and Implementation:
      • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive written safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEC)
      • Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, job-specific training, and refresher courses
      • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
      • Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective and preventative actions
      • Track and analyze safety performance metrics, identify trends, and develop strategies for continuous improvement
      • Manage the facility’s personal protective equipment (PPE) program, ensuring proper selection, use, and maintenance
      • Oversee the development and execution of emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety, spill response, and medical emergencies
      • Foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization through proactive communication, employee engagement, and leadership support
    •  Process Safety Management (PSM):
      • Lead and manage the facility’s PSM program in accordance with OSHA 1910.119, ensuring all elements are effectively implemented and maintained
      • Oversee process hazard analyses (PHAs), including hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development of recommendations
      • Manage the mechanical integrity program, including inspections, testing, and maintenance of critical equipment
      • Ensure compliance with management of change (MOC) procedures for process modifications
      • Coordinate pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) for new or modified processes
      • Develop and maintain operating procedures, safe work practices, and emergency shutdown procedures
      • Oversee the training and qualification of employees involved in PSM-covered processes
      • Conduct regular PSM audits to ensure program effectiveness and compliance
    •  Regulatory and Insurance Compliance and Reporting:
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory and insurance inspections and inquiries
      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation
      • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports in a timely and accurate manner
      • Stay abreast of changes in safety regulations and communicate these changes to relevant personnel
    •  Leadership and Collaboration:
      • Provide leadership and guidance to employees on health and safety matters
      • Collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other departments to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of facility operations
      • Work closely with contractors to ensure their compliance with site safety rules and regulations
      • Participate in safety committees and other employee involvement initiatives

    Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      • Minimum 3 years of progressive health & safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing or chemical processing
      • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DEC regulations; proven experience managing PSM programs
      • Skilled in safety audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis
      • Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving abilities
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM)
      • Experience in ethanol production or a related chemical industry
      • Experience with safety reporting in New York State
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders
      • Must wear required PPE and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions
      • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

    — Transportation Manager

    Job Summary

    The Transportation Manager will be responsible for planning and scheduling truck shipments of corn, distillers, corn oil and high purity alcohol. This role will also be responsible for monitoring transportation costs and working with the Commodity Manager on corn and other commodity contracts. They will also be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive truck maintenance program and compliance with DOT regulations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop a daily load schedule for each Shelby Transportation truck driver and 3rd party logistics/trucking companies
    • Coordination and scheduling of loads based on upcoming bulk transportation needs from all departments of WNYE and ClearSource
    • Coordinating maintenance of trucks with maintenance department
    • HUT and IFTA tax filing
    • IRS 2290 form filing
    • Overweight permits
    • Maintaining driver files with DOT regulations
    • IRP registration processing
    • Subcontracting and brokering loads with other local fleets
    • Monitoring rates and transportation costs
    • Reviewing driver paperwork

    — Lab Technician

    Job Summary

    The Lab Technician position is a professional who is involved in every aspect of laboratory work, from recording data to maintaining equipment.  They’re responsible for various tasks that follow strict guidelines and regulations, including protecting the accuracy and efficiency of experiments and lab testing while keeping the lab organized.

    Work Hours

    • Full time position
    • 12 hour monthly rotating shift (5:45 am to 6 pm; 5:45 pm to 6 am); 4 days one week (48.6 hrs); 3 days following week (36.45 hrs)
    • Alternate weekends
    • Holiday required based on schedule
    • Overtime required based on coverage
    • Company runs 24/7/365

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Test raw materials, in-process and finished products
    • Perform tests and provide results in a timely manner according to written SOPs
    • Report out of specification results to Laboratory Management, the Quality Assurance Management, and Process Supervisor when appropriate
    • Record test results on appropriate form, in computer database, or in logbook.
    • Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment when needed
    • Perform other work duties as requested by Laboratory management
    • Perform all duties according to safety standards and as required to ensure the general safety of all other staff
    • When needed, be able to collect samples from outside under harsh weather conditions
    • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 pounds, and remain on your feet for long periods of time

    — Ethanol Plant Operator

    Nature of Work

    Under general supervision, performs work of routine ethanol production operations and related duties. Monitors process operating parameters and maintains them within specified parameters. Maintains logs and records. Performs sampling activities and conducts laboratory testing procedures. Operates powered industrial equipment. Participates in plant maintenance program, performs flushings, cleanings and lubrications. They must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Have a valid NYS driver’s license. Have a high school/GED diploma

    Essential Duties

    • Monitors computer systems for safe and efficient operation
    • Keeps records
    • Performs sampling activities and conducts laboratory test procedures as required by the QA program and procedures
    • Communicates with Laboratory Supervisor to ensure effective participation in the implementation of QA policies and procedures
    • Operates equipment, including forklifts and scissors lift
